OFFER DESCRIPTION

The Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, announces a vacant researcher position for a 4 months full time job of a foreign research fellow (from March 1, 2021 to June 31, 2021) as part of the implementation of a university project International mobility of research, technical and administrative staff of research organizations (No. 02_18_053).

 

The focus of the researcher's activities is within finance and financial econometrics, especially at deeper understanding of connections and linkages between financial and economic variables, and impact of growing dynamic networks on real economy. The goal of the project is to enhance the research profile of the Institute of Economic Studies. The activities of the fellow will result in increased Institute’s internationalization, strengthened research and pedagogical capabilities and development of subsequent international research projects with a participation of the Institute’s academic staff and/or Ph.D. candidates, creation of new teams and research networks leading to the world's top professional discourse. It is assumed that the accepted applicant will, among other things, prepare follow-up projects.

  • the selected research fellow is involved in research activities of the Institute, carry out his/her own research, and creates new projects
  • he/she is partially involved to education programs (above the scope of the regular education) such as doctoral seminars
  • his/her research activities result in an excellent level publication issues which are (not necessarily exclusively) dedicated to the Institute of Economic Studies

    • document that approve academic or research position outside the Czech Republic for at least 2 out of 3 last years, and
    • a copy of the Ph.D. diploma

Specification of eligible applicants:

  • junior academician – postdoctoral researcher (max. 7 years after the completion of Ph.D. studies)
  • the applicant was affiliated at an institution outside the Czech Republic for at least 2 out of the last 3 years (workload min. 0,5) or was a Ph.D. student abroad
  • a Ph.D. in Economics or Finance from a school which ranks equivalently or higher than Charles University in international rankings
  • the applicant has at least 2 articles indexed in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science in categories “Economics” or “Business, Finance”
  • Czech Language ability is not obligatory
