POST-DOC/JUNIOR RESEARCHER POSITION IN THE FIELD OF
“Synthesis and Application of Graphene Derivatives in Heterogeneous Catalysis”
supervised by
The Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials at Palacký University in Olomouc (Czech Republic) announces the opening of a new postdoctoral position in synthesis and application of graphene derivatives in heterogeneous catalysis in the research team of prof. Michal Otyepka focused on 2D chemistry under the umbrella of his ERC project.
The successful candidate will receive a one-year (to be possible extended up to three-years after evaluation) contract at Palacký University in Olomouc in the Czech Republic. This unique position is open immediately for qualified applicants.
The research program:
The research work will be focused on interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding of reactivity over solid catalysts, optimization of reaction conditions and applications of new solid catalysts. Special attention will be focused on synthesis and testing of new 2D catalysts based on graphene derivatives and single-atom catalysts. The applicant will benefit from the synthetic routes toward graphene derivatives developed in the framework of ERC project 2D chemistry (www.2Dchem.org). Applicants should synthetize, comprehend and critically evaluate information acquired from a wide portfolio of in-house chemical and characterization techniques (e.g., GC(LC)/MS, XRD, XPS, TEM, SEM, HR-TEM, AFM, Raman, IR, iGC, TGA/DSC etc.) The applicant will become part of a young, focused, and motivated international team with excellent equipment (see www.rcptm.com).
The applicant responsibilities:
- Synthesis and optimization of catalysts
- Executing catalytic reactions
- Analysis and interpretation of catalytic processes
- Optimization of catalytic processes
- Coordination of catalysts characterizations – both surface and bulk properties
- Cooperation with theoreticians and characterization experts
- Ability to conduct targeted research
- Ability to comprehend results from characterization techniques used in organic chemistry and material science
- Manuscript writing
