The Faculty of Science, Charles University (Prague, Czechia) invites applications for a Post-doctoral position in the Geological Section.
The position is open for researchers focusing on (ultra)fast to slow processes in the lithosphere and on the surface of the Earth, to describe the velocity of evolutionary changes and dynamics of paleoecosystems related to these processes, including the influence of humans on these processes.
The gross monthly salary is 62,222 CZK (circa 2,437 EUR) including health insurance and social insurance coverage.
Selection will be based on the relevance of candidates’ professional interests and experience, excellence in research achievements and the quality of the submitted research proposal.
Required application materials:
- Cover letter including a personal statement of research interests
- Curriculum vitae with the list of publications
- Research proposal (circa two pages long)
- Two letters of recommendation stating referees’ contact information
- Letter of support from the Lead Researcher at the host Department of the Faculty of Science.
The position tenure is 18 months, starting on October 1, 2018 and ending on March 31, 2019.
The application deadline is January 31, 2018. Subsequently, the applications´ review will begin immediately. Successful candidates will be informed by February 28, 2018.
REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVELGeosciences: PhD or equivalent
REQUIRED LANGUAGESENGLISH: Excellent
The applicant must have had at least 2 published, peer-reviewed research outputs in the last 3 years.
Ph.D. or other appropriate level 8 ISCED (International Standard Classification of Education) qualification completed within the last seven years.
The applicant must have resided outside the Czech Republic at least for 2 of the last 3 years.
