The project focuses on the "catasto tavolare," a cadastral system and jurisdictional institution found only in certain areas annexed to Italy after World War 1, including Trieste and other parts of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The aim is twofold: firstly, the researcher will carry out an analysis of the Italian used in the "catasto tavolare" of Trieste, also from a diachronic perspective. The second objective involves creating glossaries and guides for Italian and foreign businesses as well as the general public, which will be developed based on the linguistic analysis and in-depth studies on the functioning of the "tavolare" and will adhere to the principles of plain language, serving as useful tools for familiarizing both the public and businesses, particularly those interested in purchasing property or starting businesses in the area, with an institution not found elsewhere. Lastly, the research will enhance the history and functioning of a unique organization known for its efficiency.
