The institute is based at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), which is the second-largest business university in the European Union with around 2,400 employees in research, teaching, and administration and more than 23,000 students. As a workplace, we offer an architecturally outstanding, modern campus near the Vienna Prater. We are looking to fill the position of a Teaching and Research Associate ("prae-doc") with Professor Fisch as of June 1st 2026, for a limited period of 6 years.

Your area of responsibility:

  • Active participation in the institute’s research projects; please see our current research areas here: https://www.wu.ac.at/en/iib/iib/teams/team-fisch
  • Opportunity for scientific qualification (writing of a dissertation in the mentioned areas) under close and competent supervision
  • Participation in the academic unit's teaching and research activities, including the advancement of empirical research and publication projects
  • Participation in the academic unit's administrative tasks and evaluation measures
  • Supervising students and realization of courses and examinations
  • Active contribution to a committed, cooperative, and high-performance team

Your profile:

  • Master's degree business administration, economics, or another business-related study program, preferably supplemented by engineering, natural sciences or mathematics content, with above-average results
  • Proven knowledge in the field of corporate strategy and organization as well as proficiency in large-scale empirical research guided by economic theories
  • Experience gained through supporting work at a research institution or through similar commitments alongside your studies is an advantage
  • Command of written and spoken English and German
  • Independent and goal-driven way of working, ability to work in a team, high resilience, and strong achievement motivation
  • Willingness to use multimedia formats in teaching

The minimum monthly salary is 2,832.08 EUR gross; job-related prior activities may be considered.
