invites applications for the position of
Assistant Professor (F/M)

IN THE GROUP OF RESEARCH AND TEACHING STAFF
IN THE DEPARTMENT OF THERMAL MACHINERY
at the Faculty OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Applicants must meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science, the Statute of Czestochowa University of Technology, and the specific criteria established by the selection committee of the relevant unit.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. A declaration of intent to publish scholarly work in the field of engineering and technical sciences in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering. 
  2. Availability for full-time employment at Czestochowa University of Technology for a period of one year. 
  3. A relevant academic degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  4. A PhD degree in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering.
  5. Demonstrated experience in conducting scientific research, preparing scientific publications, and developing research reports.
  6. Experience in teaching at the university level.
  7. A proven scientific track record in Mechanical Engineering, demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals with an Impact Factor.
  8. Experience in the implementation of research activities, including research projects or statutory research.
  9. Knowledge of software tools for engineering systems (e.g., LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, and CAx).
  10. Ability to design and construct research test rigs and measurement systems, as well as to plan and conduct experimental research.
  11. Good command of the English language, sufficient for conducting research and publishing scientific results.
  12. Fluency in Polish (required for international candidates).
  13. A reference letter from a senior academic researcher.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Conducting scientific research and development work. 
  2. Delivery of teaching activities in a workload consistent with the Work Regulations of Czestochowa University of Technology.
  3. Performing organisational duties. 

We offer:

  1. Full-time employment under an employment contract. 
  2. Remuneration in accordance with Annex No. 1 to the Remuneration Regulations for Employees of Czestochowa University of Technology (the regulations are available at: https://pcz.pl/pracownik/sprawy-kadrowe-i-socjalne/dzial-personalny/reg…).
  3. Seniority allowance depending on years of service, i.e.,  from 3% to 20% 
    of the basic salary. 
  4. Other remuneration components specified in the Remuneration Regulations for Employees of Czestochowa University of Technology. 
  5. Additional voluntary group insurance. 
  6. Subsidies for holidays for employees and their children (the so-called “holiday allowance”). 
  7. Subsidies for sports and recreational activities as well as cultural and educational activities.

1. Personal Data Controller

3. Purpose and legal basis for processing

Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of conducting the recruitment procedure.

The legal basis for processing personal data is Article 22¹ §1 of the Polish Labour Code and Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (processing is necessary for the performance of a contract by the data subject or for taking steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract), as well as Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR (processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the Controller is subject).

Providing additional data beyond the scope resulting from Article 22¹ of the Labour Code will be treated as consent to the processing of such personal data. Granting consent in this case is voluntary and may be revoked at any time.

If the documents submitted by you contain data referred to in Article 9(1) of the GDPR, your consent to the processing of such data will also be required and may be revoked at any time.

4. Recipients of personal data

Your personal data may only be disclosed to entities authorised to receive them under the provisions of law. Recipients of personal data may also include entities providing services for the Data Controller, in particular including legal or IT services.

5. Data storage period

Data collected in the current recruitment process will be stored until the completion of the recruitment process, and in the case of employment, in accordance with the applicable laws concerning employee documentation and archiving regulations in force at Czestochowa University of Technology.

6. Rights of data subjects

In the cases and under the conditions specified in the GDPR, you have the right to access your data and obtain copies thereof, rectify (amend) your personal data, restrict the processing of personal data, and request the deletion of your data (to the extent not required by law).

If you believe that your personal data are being processed in violation of the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (uodo.gov.pl).

7. Requirement to provide data

Provision of personal data required under Article 22¹ of the Labour Code is necessary in order to participate in the recruitment process. Providing other data is voluntary.

8. Automated decision-making

Your personal data will not be subject to automated processing, including profiling.
