announces a competition for the position of the head in the Department of Organic Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology

       A. Applicants should meet the following criteria:

1. hold the title of professor in the field of medical sciences and health sciences, the discipline of pharmaceutical sciences or the degree of habilitated doctor (a degree above PhD, awarded in Polish higher education) of pharmaceutical sciences,
2. professional title - MPharm,
3. registration as a pharmacist,

4. demonstrate professional achievements in the scientific field, teaching and training young scientists and leading research teams

   B. Pursuant to § 9 section 2 of the Regulations on competitions, a person may not enter the competition if: 

   The conditions specified in Art. 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws 2024, item 1571, as amended) are unmet.

   C. Candidates entering the competition shall submit the following documents:

   1. Application,

   2 Candidate's statement that he/she has read and accepted the contents of the Regulations on competitions for the selection of managers at faculties and university-wide units,

   3 Curriculum vitae, including professional work, research and teaching,

   4 Copy of the document confirming the attainment of a postdoctoral degree or academic title (if applicable),

   5. Copy of the document confirming relevant specialization (if applicable),

   6. List of publications with scoring determined and confirmed by the WMU Main Library,

   7. nformation on activities in the field of training of young scientists,

   8. Proposed development program for the unit related to this competition,

   9. Declaration on basic employment following Art. 120 section 2 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws 2024, item 1571, as amended), 

   10. Statement that there are no prerequisites referred to in point B,

   11. Opinion of the head of the department regarding the candidate for the next term in the same unit, in the case of a competition for the head of a unit that is part of a department,

   12. Any references or opinions on research and teaching work, 

   13. Declaration of consent to the processing of personal data with the following content: 
   “I consent to the processing of my special category personal data contained in the submitted documents” – if the submitted documents include special category data, e.g., regarding health,

   14. In the case of persons who are not employees of the Wroclaw Medical University, candidates may submit the following documents: certificates confirming the completion of foreign internships lasting for a minimum of one month, previous teaching achievements, 
   studies in a foreign language, leading a scientific grant, supervising or assistant supervising doctoral dissertations, developing a utility model or a patent, certificates of awards received.

Deadline for submission of documents: 30 calendar days from the date of the announcement expires on July 17, 2026.

E. Information on the processing of personal data

The administrator of the personal data processed for the purpose of the competition for the selection 
of heads of organizational units of the University is the Wrocław Medical University, with its seat 
at Wybrzeże Pasteura 1, 50-367 Wrocław, represented by the Rector. Personal data to the extent indicated in the Labor Code and the Law on Higher Education and Science and other applicable laws, the University processes under Art. 6 section 1 letter c of the General Data Protection Regulation, i.e., to fulfill the legal obligation imposed on the administrator. Providing other personal data to the extent not specified by law will be treated as consent to processing such data. If the documents include special category data, such as health data, your written consent will be required for their processing. Giving consent is voluntary and can be revoked at any time.

The Rector makes the decision on the appointment of a head of an organizational unit, taking into account the documentation gathered during the competition and the results of the competition committee vote (§ 16 of the Regulations on competitions for the selection of managers at faculties 
and university-wide units). 

In the case of candidates who are not employees of the Wrocław Medical University and those whose employment relationship is terminated prior to the date of assuming office, the competition commission shall additionally carry out the activities resulting from the Regulations on competitions for the positions of academic teachers. 

The competition results will be announced within 6 months from the date of the competition announcement.
